"Mt Ruapehu at Nightfall"

Inspired by the striking beauty of Mt Ruapehu in New Zealand’s North Island, Mt Ruapehu at Nightfall captures the mountain in a beautiful moment as day fades into evening. The snow-covered peaks stand out against the deep blue sky, while soft purple tones on the horizon bring a sense of calm and quiet magic to the scene.

I wanted to bring this landscape to life through layers of colour and texture. The mountain features a raised, 3D textured finish that highlights its rugged peaks and snowy slopes, creating depth and a lovely sense of movement. The cool winter tones contrast with the vibrant green hills below, making the snow-covered mountain the centrepiece of the artwork.

For me, this piece celebrates the incredible landscapes of New Zealand and the way they can make us pause and take in the beauty around us. With its rich textures and peaceful evening colours, it brings a little piece of New Zealand’s alpine beauty into your home.
